The Western Canada chapter held its annual reunion on 8 November at the Arbutus Ridge Golf Club on Vancouver Island.
This is the “home” club of both Alex and Laura Jorgensen and Dick and Lesley Gold, which ensured friendly service and excellent food. Other participants were Bev Bauche, Karol Charleson, Anne Porter, Ed and Jane Hourihan, Bill and Christine Fraser (and daughter Christina), John Kuiper, Richard Marshall and Sharon Broadley, and John and Lynne Cole. Coordinator John Cole talked a little about AFE–ADB matters, and there was a general expression of (1) thanks to recently retired Executive Secretary Khan for his many years of service, and (2) goodwill toward the new AFE management team. A musical quiz with an historical twist, presented by John Cole, tormented the crowd for a while, but the evening was mostly devoted to renewing friendships, enjoying each others’ company, and reminiscing. Next year’s reunion will be held in Vancouver.
