AFE forms committees to assist and advise on various matters. The three standing committees deal with pension, insurance, and communications.
The Insurance Committee currently comprises Jill Gale de Villa (head), Barbara E. Palacios, and seven members.
The Publications Committee currently comprises Jill Gale de Villa (head), the rest of the Executive Committee, Steve Banta, Anna Juico, Wickie Mercado, David Parker, Guia Estabillo, Geth Cabuay, Hans-Juergen Springer, and others.
In 2023, a Bylaws Committee headed by Bruce Murray and Eveline Fischer carefully examined the Bylaws for needed revisions and submitted them to the Executive Committee in early 2024 for review. The membership is expected to vote on the result late in 2024.
Also in 2023 a Chapter Coordinators Committee headed by Günter Hecker and Gam de Armas completed the "A Practical Guide for Chapter Coordinators".
Individuals provide other assistance that is essential, valuable, and much valued. As AFE's membership and duties expand, the need for assistance also increases.
